Pantanal Expedition
25 October – 02 November 2027
A unique exploratory expedition aboard a luxury riverboat into the depths of Jaguarland, the beating heart of the Pantanal, home to the world's largest Jaguar population.
Exploring the region's waterways, shrouded in dense forest, in search of wildlife will be the goal of our adventure. In particular, we will look for Jaguars, Giant otters, and Ocelots, which live here, along with other large mammals such as primates, the Hooded capuchin and Black howler, Capybara, Giant and Lesser anteaters, Brocket deer and Pampas deer, Tapirs, and Armadillos, as well as a huge variety of colorful birds, including the Macaws. This is an exclusive trip for our group of up to 10 people, with special attention to comfort.
Program
25 October
Arrival at Cuiabá.
Overnight at Hotel Amazon Airport or similar****.
26 October
Early this morning, we’ll drive the famous Transpantaneira Highway to the Pantanal. Our lodge is located just 2.5 kilometers from the road, on the forested banks of the Pixaim River, rich in wildlife.
This lodge is unlike any other in the Pantanal and boasts some real gems. It’s the best place in the world to photograph Toco Toucans, it’s home to the only Jabiru stork nest in the world that can be observed up close, and finally, the highlight is the unique opportunity to spot wild Ocelots up close.
After lunch, we’ll embark on an excursion that will allow us to admire the world’s greatest variety of animal species, including Kingfishers (all five South American species), Falcons, Caimans, Capybaras, Agami herons, Jabiru storks, and, if we’re lucky, even Jaguars.
After dinner, we’ll set out in search of the elusive Ocelot.

27 October
In the morning, we’ll travel further south to Porto Jofre, where we’ll continue by boat to Jaguarland, the Pantanal region with the highest Jaguar density in the world. Between July and November, during the dry season, Jaguars approach the rivers, making this an ideal spot for boat safaris.
We’ll spend the next few days aboard the Naturezas riverboat, a luxurious houseboat chartered for our group of up to 10 people, designed exclusively for wildlife observation in the Pantanal. Designed for jaguar-focused expeditions, the 26-meter vessel offers five panoramic suites, a restaurant with 360° views, and an open upper deck equipped with a sky bar for spotting.
In the afternoon, we’ll depart for our first small boat excursion in search of Jaguars.
Overnight onboard.
28 – 30 October
Days entirely dedicated to discovering the Pantanal and its inhabitants, with two safaris aboard small boats planned each day.
Rare and endangered mammals such as the Jaguar and Giant otter find refuge here, along with other large mammals such as Primates, the Hooded capuchin and Black howler, Capybara, Giant and Lesser anteater, Brocket deer and Pampas deer, Tapir, and Armadillo. Birdwatching in the Pantanal is also an unmissable experience; the extraordinary variety and beauty of the region’s birds is incredible. Hyacinth macaws, the world’s largest parrots, are just one example.
Some sources claim that the Pantanal has the highest concentration of fauna in the New World.
Overnight onboard.
31 October
In the morning, we’ll leave our boat and return to the lodge where we spent our first night in the Pantanal.
After lunch and in the evening, two safaris are planned to explore the spectacular local wildlife.
