04 September
Our adventure begins with a city tour of Dushanbe, Tajikistan’s capital and largest city. We’ll visit the Tajik National Museum of Antiquities, home to the famous statue of Buddha in Nirvana, and the Botanical Garden, a favorite recreation spot for locals. Our next stop is a local bazaar, where we can immerse ourselves in the authentic Tajik atmosphere and admire oriental commercial art. Next, we’ll visit the Hissar Fortress and the remains of the 18th-century citadel, and finally, we’ll visit a madrassa and a mausoleum.

05 September
After breakfast, we depart for the Pamir Range through the Kulyab region. Along the way, we’ll pass through Nurek and Kulya, where we’ll make a short stop. We’ll enjoy splendid views and mountain passes along the road to Kalai-Khumb, located on the Panj River.

06 September
In the morning, we’ll depart for Khorog along the Panj River, a tributary of the mighty Amu Darya. From here, we’ll have the opportunity to admire Afghanistan from the river’s right bank. We’ll continue by car to Khorog, a small mountain town nestled in a valley, the capital of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region. The city sits at 2,000 meters above sea level and extends irregularly along the slopes of the Gunt River on both banks. Here, we’ll visit the botanical garden and the local museum.

07 September
After breakfast, we’ll visit the famous Garam Chashma hot springs. Next, we’ll depart for Ishkashim, a small town at the entrance to the Wakhan Corridor, where the 19th-century Great Game between Russia and Great Britain concluded.
We’ll continue along the northern bank of the river, enjoying breathtaking views of the Pamirs to the left and the Hindu Kush to the right; numerous visible peaks exceed 6,000 meters.

08 September
In the morning, we’ll leave Ishkashim for Langar. Along the way, we’ll visit Kah-Kaha, one of the ancient Silk Road fortresses in the Namadgut region. We’ll continue to the Museum of Muborak-Kadami Vakhani, a Sufi master, theologian, poet, and local traveler who passed away in 1910. Near his house, there’s a stone column with a hole used as a solar calendar, and a building with inscriptions and decorations created by the scholar.
We’ll also visit the Buddhist stupa of Vrang, the sacred Bibi Fatima Zahra hot springs, and the ruins of the Yamchun fortress, dating back to the 4th-3rd century BC, built to protect the Pamir branch of the Silk Road.

09 September
We’ll start the day with an excursion to the petroglyphs. This area boasts over 600 rock carvings made by prehistoric peoples, exposed to the open air.
We then continue towards the scenic Bulunkul and Yashilkul lakes, following the route through the high Khargushi Pass, which is 4344 meters high. The entire route is characterized by the presence of numerous small lakes.
After lunch at Bulunkul Lake, we’ll continue to the village of Alichur, located at 4,100 meters.
