Paolo Giani
Journalist, correspondent, commentator and television presenter, born in 1956, Paolo Giani has the title of Editor of the Special Services of TG1.
He started his career eighteen years old as a journalist, first in print, then as a collaborator of TG1 since 1977. He then finally arrived in the RAI after winning a competition in 1979.
After some years in a regional office of RAI, Paolo was in the staff of Enzo Biagi, before returning permanently to the TG1 in 1986, where, among other things, has conducted all editions of the news (except the one at 8 PM).
He has also conducted various programs for RAIUNO, such as “Unomattina”, “Linea Verde Orizzonti” and “Easy Driver”.
Always for RAIUNO he participated in the first three “Overland” expeditions, producing reports for which he has won many awards (including the “Saint-Vincent” 1997 and “the best TV show in 1998” by the association of television critics). These documentaries achieve very high share.He loves adventure documentaries, exploration and mountain, Giani has participated in various expeditions (also in winter), making numerous reports in some of the most remote and wild regions of the planet, such as the geographic North Pole, Antarctica, Alaska, Svalbard, Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego, Lapland and the two Everest base camps, Tibet and Nepal.
